Holmes Community College, a comprehensive public institution with multiple locations in Central Mississippi, provides innovative educational and cultural opportunities to its constituents through campus-based and distance education programs. Since 1925, more than 20,000 alumni have received an education and/or trained for the workforce at Holmes. The college has grown from an agricultural junior college in Goodman into a multi-campus institution that offers the Associate of Arts degree, Associate of Applied Science degree, technical and career certificates, and workforce training.
Holmes offers several campus locations, including the main campus in Goodman, the Grenada Campus, Ridgeland Campus, Yazoo Center in Yazoo City and the Attala Center in Kosciusko. Holmes also offers more than 50 academic majors, approximately 30 professional programs, over 50 extracurricular activities, nine athletic sports and a variety of student support services. Classes are offered in various formats, including: face-to-face (day and evening), hybrid (online convenience plus face-to-face), eLearning (online via the internet), 8-week short-term, 4-week short term and accelerated (10 and 15 days). Additionally, in 2018, Holmes became the first community college in the nation to offer the Applied Behavior Analysis course which counts toward the 40 hours of training needed to apply for the Registered Behavior Technician credential.
