Early Learning Implementation Guide
The Early Learning Implementation Guide provides guidance to prospective colleges to implement a prior learning assessment (PLA) of the Mississippi Early Learning Basics Credential to CDT 1224.
Participants will enroll and complete the Early Childhood Academy (ECA) professional development courses, which have been mapped to CDT 1224 Preschool and Primary Development. Once participants complete and receive the Mississippi Early Learning Basics Credential, they can apply to a local community college that offers the Education Technology Program. The student will then begin the PLA process . After successful completion of the PLA process, students will receive credit for CDT 1224 Preschool and Primary Development at the discretion of the college.

Work-Based Learning Guide and Forms
Work‐Based Learning (WBL) combines programs of study with structured on‐the‐job experiences in businesses and industries. Placed in a work environment that complements classroom learning, WBL students practice and develop skills and competencies that have been identified by participating businesses and industries. WBL participants are better able to see the connection between education and work and are able to earn wages while learning from skilled professionals. The WBL experience allows students to test potential careers and provides exposure to expanded career possibilities.
WBL students should enter the workforce better equipped with employability skills, technical capabilities, and educational backgrounds, thus enhancing their future career options. Work‐Based Learning also provides existing employees the opportunity to sharpen and expand skills while receiving college credit, which could lead to more job security and advancement.
