External Research Request

The Mississippi Association for Community Colleges (MACC) welcomes partnerships with researchers for the purpose of facilitating evidence-driven improvement within the Mississippi public community college system.  The term “external research” describes studies that are conducted for publication or by/on behalf of an entity outside the MACC.  External research may include dissertations performed by graduate students, assessments of practices or programs by regional/national organizations, grant evaluations, and many other applications.

The MACC Council on Institutional Research & Effectiveness (CIRE) reviews proposals for external research involving two or more MACC colleges through its CIRE Sub-committee on External Research.  The sub-committee meets six times per year according to a schedule outlined in attached policy.  The mission of the sub-committee is to evaluate potential external research for recommendation to the local college research contacts.  Final decisions on participation in studies rests with each MACC college.

Researchers seeking to work with two or more MACC colleges should carefully review the linked documentation. The current sub-committee chair is Melanie Davis, Director of Institutional Research & Effectiveness at Pearl River Community College.  Completed applications and additional questions may be emailed to mldavis@prcc.edu.
