The Emergency Management & Communications Technology curriculum prepares individuals to provide skill and training in the emergency management area and in public safety communications. The curriculum includes ECT courses as an integral part of local, state, and national response teams providing skills and knowledge in a variety of emergency situations.
The Fire Protection Technology pathway is an instructional program that prepares individuals to provide firefighting and basic emergency care. Firefighters also function as a part of the EMS response, providing skills and knowledge in a variety of emergencies. Included is instruction in fire science, fire prevention, fire fighting principles, fire apparatus and hydraulics, disaster management, building construction, and fire fighter safety.
The Realtime Reporting Technology pathway is an instructional program that prepares individuals to create word-for-word transcriptions at trials, depositions, and other legal proceedings. The Criminal Justice Technology pathway is an instructional program that prepares individuals to become professionals in law enforcement, corrections, and other criminal justice fields. Included is instruction in police administration and organization, corrections, criminology, traffic law, police operations, criminal law, and criminal investigation.
The Crime Scene Technician pathway is an instructional program that prepares individuals to collect, identify, classify, and analyze physical evidence related to criminal investigations. Included is instruction in evidence technology, evidence photography, physical evidence, biological evidence, and criminal investigation.
The Paralegal Technology pathway is an instructional program that prepares individuals for employment as a paralegal in courts, corporations, law firms, and government agencies. Included is instruction in law, legal research, family law, wills and estates, civil litigation, torts, and property.
The Conservation Law Enforcement Technology pathway is an instructional program that prepares individuals for state or local governments, or on privately owned forests or nurseries. Included is instruction in natural science, applied dendrology, criminal justice, forest surveying, special problems in conservation law, silviture, and criminology.
