About

In an effort to support and enhance the educational and personal growth and development of all students, a multitude of student services are in place at our community colleges. Student services are critical to a student’s academic success right along with the instructional services. Effective support services include academic, social, and financial supports. When implemented in a coordinated, targeted, and comprehensive structure, these initiatives have been shown to improve student success.

Each community college determines what support services its students need and in what manner to deliver those services. Some of those services include admissions, advising, counseling, financial aid, disability support services, campus security, student government associations, as well as social activities.  The MCCB Office of Academic and Student Affairs supports the colleges in their efforts by coordinating resources and sharing of best practices.

Honor Society

  • Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the official honor society for two-year colleges. It promotes scholarship, develops character, and provides opportunity for the development of leadership and service skills. Membership in PTK can also provide students with access to an abundance of transfer scholarships to assist in the completion of a bachelor’s degree.
